EC-Lab Technical Notes 06: The Data smooth option

Introduction

Sometimes experiments require the acquisition of a large number of points (acquisition time of 200 µs for EC-Lab® ) with a small signal to noise ratio (for example, for adsorption studies or experiments made with ultra-microelectrodes). For such experiments, EC-Lab® includes a “smooth” option. In fact, this option is based on the calculation of a sliding average of each measured value with a defined number of previous values (smooth window size). The interface then depicts this average in the graphic display.
