EC-Lab Technical Notes 08: Adjustment of the potential control resolution

Latest updated: August 16, 2021

Introduction

Usually, experiments do not require a dynamic of 20 V range. So in EC-Lab ®, the potential control range can be adjusted to the required experimental potential range and consequently improve the voltage resolution in order to achieve potential values as close as possible to the set values and, in potential sweeps, to be as close as possible to a linear sweep with the smallest potential step. This is obtained by adjustment of the DAC output from ±10 V to the required potential range, through a programmable attenuator and a programmable offset.
